Additional Description for Popular Music Audition:
1. The Popular Music program, applicants are required to Thai language communication. All performance and interview auditions are conducted in Thai language only.
2. The Popular Music program does not accept in the second semester (Admission round 5th are not available).

Voice Performance (Music Production) Audition Requirements

1. Piece (70 points)
Each applicant is required to perform two songs, as follows:

  1. One song with Thai lyrics
  2. One song with English lyrics

Applicants can choose the songs by adhering to the following conditions:
*One of the songs must be a slow-tempo piece, and the other must be a fast-tempo piece.
**One song must be performed a cappella (without musical accompaniment), and the other must be performed with a backing track.
***Each song must not be more than 3 minutes in duration
**** Applicants must prepare the backing track (without lead vocals). The file can be played in one of two ways: From the applicant’s personal flash drive, or from the applicant’s personal electronic device (e.g., smartphone or tablet), with the file pre-downloaded and ready to play. The examination room will only provide a computer, speakers, and a 3.5 mm (mini phone jack) audio adapter. If the applicant ‘s personal device uses a different audio output format, the applicant must bring the converter that is compatible with a 3.5 mm jack.

2. Scale Test (20 points)
The committee will randomly play a root note using a piano, selecting one key per scale appropriate for the applicant’s vocal range. The applicant must sing the scale using Moveable Do-Solfège (do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-ti) both ascending and descending within one octave, accompanied by a metronome at 80 bpm using eighth notes. Required scales:

Major scale: do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-ti-do-ti-la-sol-fa-mi-re-do
Natural minor scale: la-ti-do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-sol-fa-mi-re-do-ti-la
Harmonic minor scale: la-ti-do-re-mi-fa-si-la-si-fa-mi-re-do-ti-la
Melodic minor scale: la-ti-do-re-mi-fi-si-la-sol-fa-mi-re-do-ti-la

3. Melody Reproduction – Sing Back Test (10 points)
The committee will play a 4 bars melody in either 4/4 or 6/8 time signature, using either live piano or an audio file. The applicant must accurately reproduce the melody by singing it after listening.

Voice Performance – LPC (Live Performance Concentration) Audition Requirements

1. Piece (50 points)

Each applicant is required to perform two songs, as follows:

  1. One song with Thai lyrics
  2. One song with English lyrics

Applicants can choose the songs by adhering to the following conditions:
*One of the songs must be a slow-tempo piece, and the other must be a fast-tempo piece.
**One song must be performed a cappella (without musical accompaniment), and the other must be performed with a backing track. 
***Each song must not be more than 3 minutes in duration

2. Dance Performance (30 points)

Applicants can choose the song for a dance performance, accompanied by the applicant’s backing track. The backing track must be between 1.30-2 minutes in duration.
****For both piece and dance test, applicants must prepare the backing track (without lead vocals). The file can be played in one of two ways: From the applicant’s personal flash drive, or from the applicant’s personal electronic device (e.g., smartphone or tablet), with the file pre-downloaded and ready to play. Electric Guitar Audition Requirements

1. Piece (30 points)
Perform a piece chosen by the applicant according to aptitude 1 song, which shows the skills and abilities the instrument for the committee to see. And allows the use of self-composed songs.
Applicant s are required to perform a 3-5 minutes with backing track that applicant has prepared himself in applicant’s flash drive or electronic media devices such as smart phone and tablet. A computer, speakers and 3.5mm mini phone jack are prepared to connect the devices in the examination room.

2. Style Test (30 points)
Perform Guitar in Rock, Blues and R&B styles in accordance with the specified note in conjunction with provided backing tracks by committee. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding each styles of music and the harmony.

3. Scale and Arpeggio Test (15 points)
The following Scale and Arpeggio are performed. Here are the eighth-notes at 80bpm, both up and down in 2 octaves, in conjunction with the metronome. All 12 keys are selected randomly.

4. Exercise Test (15 points)
Performing exercises on a given link Download Link in conjunction with the metronome as the tempo specified. The applicant must tap his/her foot in quarter note rhythm while performing the etudes.

5. Sight Reading Test (10 คะแนน)
Performs Guitar following the music notation suddenly with metronome.

Electric Bass Audition Requirements

1. Piece (30 points)
Perform a piece chosen by the applicant according to aptitude 1 song, which shows the skills and abilities the instrument for the committee to see. And allows the use of self-composed songs.

Applicants are required to perform 3-5 minutes with a backing track that the applicant has prepared himself in the applicant’s flash drive or electronic media devices such as smart phone and tablet. A computer, speakers and 3.5mm mini phone jack are prepared to connect the devices in the examination room.

Perform Piano in Rock, Blues and R&B styles in accordance with the specified note in conjunction with provided backing tracks by committee. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding each styles of music and the harmony. And allows the use of any kinds of sound selected in applicant’s Keyboard.

3. Scale and Arpeggio Test (20 points)
The following Scale and Arpeggio are performed. Here are the eighth-notes at 80bpm, both up and down in 2 octaves, in conjunction with the metronome. All 12 keys are selected randomly.

Drum Set Audition Requirements

1. Piece (40 points)
Perform a piece chosen by the applicant according to aptitude 1 song, which shows the skills and abilities the instrument for the committee to see. And allows the use of self-composed songs.

Applicants are required to perform 3-5 minutes with a backing track that the applicant has prepared himself in the applicant’s flash drive or electronic media devices such as smart phone and tablet. A computer, speakers and 3.5mm mini phone jack are prepared to connect the devices in the examination room. And allows the use of in-ear headphones to play along with metronomes.

2. Style Test (20 points)
Performs Drum set in Rock, Blues and R&B styles in accordance with the specified note in conjunction with provided backing tracks by committee. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of each style of music.

3. Exercise Test (20 points)
Performs rudiment exercise on a given link Download Link in conjunction with the metronome as the tempo specified.

4. Sight Reading Test (20 Points) 
Performs Drum set following the music notation suddenly with metronome.

Thailand International Music Examination: TIME

1. How to apply with the TIME score

In order to study here, prospectus students should obtain a required result of TIME. The applicant will need to apply for TIME for Thai Music theory, Music Theory, and Aural training. Requirement will depend on the major areas of application.

If the applicant did not pass the TIME (<60%), but qualify for other areas, the applicant will be admitted to the college under condition and will be placed in the music foundation course as indicated in the program curriculum. However, applicant is allowed to re-take TIME and if the result is more than 60%, the applicant can submit the result for an update score (entering the first semester, until 30 April 2026 or entering the second semester, until 30 September 2026).
