Privacy Notice

The College of Music, Mahidol University (“College”) is aware of the importance of your personal information. That was given to the College with trust and the College is necessary to comply with the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) in order to certify the rights of the person who must be covered with the collection, and disclosed (“processing”). The objective of this document is to report how to collect and disclose your personal information. The College asks you to read this document to acknowledge and understand the objectives that the College has collected and disclosed your personal information.

1. Purpose and Lawful Bases of Data Processing

  • Purpose of Data Processing: The College collects, uses and discloses your personal data for research surveys in various fields that are useful for the College operations such as conducting market research, customer satisfaction survey, etc.
  • Lawful Bases of Data Processing: The College processes your personal data under the following lawful bases.
    • Consent: The College collects, uses and discloses the personal information you have answered in the College’s surveys/questions.
    • Legitimate Interest: The College uses your personal data for processing in order to prepare survey reports and present them to the Board of Directors and relevant parties for further improvement of the College’s research survey form.
    • Legal Obligation: The College may use your personal data for legal compliance processing as requested by a competent government agency such as the National Police, Prosecutor’s Office, courts, etc.

2. Personal Data to be Processed and Collection Period

Thus, after the expiration of the above period, the image will be automatically deleted from the system or the College will delete or make personal information personally identifiable.

3. Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

The College may only disclose personal data to entities or third parties to the extent necessary to fulfill the purposes and bases of processing provided in accordance with Section 1, such as employees and companies hired by the College to conduct surveys of that research or acts as a processor of personal data. In the case that a survey or research company is a personal data controller together with the College, you need to see the privacy policy or privacy notice of the surveyor or research company.

Thus, the College may also disclose to government agencies that have the authority to request personal information, such as the Royal Thai Police, Prosecutors’ offices, courts, etc., or government officials who have the power to request personal information such as investigators, prosecutors, etc., and may disclose them to government agencies and government officials for the benefit of the College itself.

4. Data Owner Rights

You have the right: (1) the right to withdraw your consent for the College to process your personal data; (2) the right to access and receive a copy of the personal data the College has collected, used, and disclosed; (3) the right to request a transfer your personal data (4) the right to object the processing of your personal data (5) The right to request that your personal data be erased, destroyed or made non-identifiable (6) the right to suspend the use of your personal data (7) the right to request the correction of your personal data to be accurate, current, complete and without causing misunderstanding; (8) the right to complain if you believe that the College or its officers or representatives have violated the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019)

Any request for the exercise of your rights as mentioned above must be done in writing or through an electronic system provided by the College. The College will use its best efforts to proceed within a reasonable timeframe and does not exceed the statutory period.

However, there may be some restrictions on the exercise of your rights. The College will inform you if we are unable to comply with your request to exercise your rights. Such restrictions are in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019).

Exercise of the above rights The College reserves the right to charge any fees in connection with and necessary for the processing of personal information requested by you.

5. Changes to the Privacy Notice

Following the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019), this Privacy Notice may be amended from time to time. The College will display an up-to-date version on its website.

This document is an advance notice to be effective from 15 March 2022 onwards if the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. shall be postponed, the enforcement shall come into force on the same day as the date on which the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) is effective.
