The department of music technology prepares students a career in sound engineer and music producer. With curriculum central to audio engineering, students will come to learn fundamental electronics and basic principles in audio recording and music production within the first two years. As the course progresses, they will acquire the essential skills for core areas from studio to orchestral recordings, as well as creative techniques in sound design, music for moving image and various tasks in audio post-production.
Our production facilities comprise audio technologies crossover eras, spanning from legendary outboard hardware to the latest network audio system, alongside the expertise of academic and technical staff. Apart from a major music production project in the final year, students will be enrolled in an internship program, gaining 200-hour work experience in production studios within Bangkok.
There are also enormous opportunities to develop their practical skills in the international and national music festivals within the College, including the cutting-edge facilities in Music Auditorium in the College of Music (MACM) and the recently built Prince Mahidol Hall. Students can expect a broad range of placement options upon graduation besides further studies, including but not limited to, studio musician, recording and mixing engineer, film music producer and live sound engineer.
