Professional Development Conference Funding – Fiscal Year 2026

Purpose:
To support the academic and professional development of lecturers at the College of Music by providing financial assistance for participation in international music conferences relevant to their respective disciplines.

General Information:
This funding initiative supports eligible lecturers with expenses associated with attending international music conferences. Partial scholarships, allocated from the College budget, are available to facilitate participation. Awards may cover the following expenses, up to THB 50,000 per recipient:

  • Round-trip international airfare (economy class)
  • Accommodation
  • Per diem (living expenses)
  • Visa fees
  • Travel insurance
  • Conference registration fees
  • Other approved, specified expenses

*Recipients are encouraged to supplement this funding with other available resources.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria:
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for funding:

  • Be currently a full-time lecturer at the College of Music, Mahidol University.
  • Have been employed at the College of Music for a minimum of six (6) months and possess an employment contract that extends for at least one (1) fiscal year from the application date.
  • Be deemed by the College of Music administration committee to demonstrate potential for development in academic, research, and professional skills.
  • Have received a formal invitation or acceptance letter from the international conference organizer.
  • Not be currently on leave for study or training purposes.
  • Not be receiving a full scholarship from any other source for the conference attendance.
  • Be eligible to apply for this funding opportunity once per fiscal year.
  • Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis until available budget funds are exhausted.

Application Process and Submission:
To apply for funding, applicants must submit a complete application package to the College of Music International Relations Office at least eight (8) weeks prior to the scheduled travel date. The application package must include the following:

  • A completed application form.
  • A nomination letter from the applicant’s direct supervisor.
  • An official invitation or acceptance letter from the conference host/organizer.
  • All other supporting documentation as deemed necessary.
  • A detailed budget estimate, outlining all anticipated expenses (travel, accommodation, registration fees, etc.). This budget must also clearly list all other sources of external funding and their respective amounts.

Terms and Conditions:
The following terms and conditions apply to this funding program:

  • The College will support no more than one (1) individual to attend each conference.
  • Recipients must sign a Scholarship Acceptance Contract at least six (6) weeks prior to their scheduled travel.
  • Upon project approval, the budget will be submitted to the Dean. Funding disbursement may occur partially before the conference and partially as reimbursement upon submission of receipts, depending on the timing of the application and budget submission, at the discretion of the International Relations Office.
  • Travel insurance covering the full duration of the trip, including travel days, is mandatory.
  • In the event that a recipient is unable to complete the planned conference activities, funding must be repaid on a pro-rata basis for any missed days.
  • If a recipient cancels their travel after receiving funding, the full amount must be returned to the College.
  • Recipients must submit original receipts and boarding passes upon completion of the conference activities.

Application Deadline:
Applications for the current fiscal year must be submitted by March 15, 2026. Please note that funds are limited, and awards will be granted based on the order of application submission.
