Faculty Spotlight: Music for Well-being — Empowering the Elderly in Salaya Community

The College of Music, Mahidol University, continues to strengthen society through the power of music under the project “Creative Community Space through Music Empowerment,” aiming to promote sustainable well-being within the local community.

On December 18, 2025, Dr. Narong Prangcharoen (Project Manager), together with faculty members from the Music Therapy Department—Asst. Prof. Dr. Natee Chiengchana, Wiput Kehasuwan, Aj. Gritsada Huncharoen, and Aj. Sasipim Settasathien—organized a specialized music activity for the elderly at the Salaya Subdistrict Municipality.

The event focused on developing a model for music activities that enhance both physical and mental health, supporting a high quality of life and fostering sustainable community engagement. This initiative directly supports SDG 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

The team was warmly welcomed by Mr. Pol Kaewthong, Deputy Mayor of Salaya, who delivered the opening remarks to the elderly participants.
