Career Highlights

Presently serving full time at College of Music, Mahidol University, Jetjumnong Jongprasert is strongly committed to creating one of the most efficient classical guitar classrooms in Thailand that empowers students to achieve their best abilities.

Jetjumpong received his professional trainings in Germany. In 2008, he became the first, and remains the only, Thai student who graduated from Robert Schumann Hochschule, Düsseldorf, Germany with a bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance with honors. There, he studied under Prof. Alexander-Sergei Ramirez (“a wizard at the guitar,” The New Vision, USA) and Rafael Aguirre Minarro (“the future of concert guitar,” Kultur Post, Germany). During the time in Düsseldorf, Jetjumnong was chosen as a guitarist member of “Live Music Now- Yehudi Menuhin” and was invited to perform at the “International Gitarrenmatineen Düsseldorf 2011 festival.”

Later, he continued to pursue further studies in Künstlerische Reifeprüfung (Artistic Maturity Examination Diploma) program under Wolfgang Lendle (1948-2016) (a student of the legendary guitarist – Andres Segovia) and Boris Tesic at Musikakademie der Stadt Kassel “Louis Spohr,” Kassel, Germany. He also had received coaching in guitar ensemble from Michael Troester.

During those periods of time, he was invited to perform in various concerts throughout Europe, including ones in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Lichtenstein, etc. and had experienced numbers of music and classical guitar activities. He also had masterclasses and extra lessons with other prestigious guitarists including Eliot Fisk, Thomas Müller-Pering, Judicael Perroy, Paolo Pegoraro, Marcin Dylla, Alvaro Pierri, Jason Vieux, Michael Lewin, Tadashi Sasaki, among others.

Jetjumnong decided to finally return to Thailand after five years in Germany with the determination to develop classical guitar studies in Thailand, trusting that his teaching experiences of more than 15 years and extensive experiences from Europe should enable him to materialize his determination.

In addition to regularly giving concerts and masterclasses including serving as jury in music competitions, his contributions in Thailand in the past include acting as the present of the “Naissance Young Classical Guitarists Competition” and the “Classical Guitar Ensemble Competition” in 2015 and 2016, respectively, cowriting classical guitar training books distributed in Thailand, serving as adjunct faculty at Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music, Bangkok, Thailand during 2015-2017.
