Nora Lee Garcia is a Powell Flutes Artist and Professor of Flute at the University of Central Florida, widely recognized as an international soloist, chamber musician, and educator. She serves as Principal Flute of the Bach Festival Orchestra of Winter Park and has appeared as a soloist in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Heinz Hall, and Steinmetz Hall.

Garcia’s distinguished career spans performances throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America. She has collaborated with many of today’s most influential musicians and composers, including Krzysztof Penderecki, Michael Tilson Thomas, Michel Debost, Philip Moll, and Gary Schocker. Deeply committed to contemporary music, she has premiered numerous new works, notably compositions by Gary Schocker, Marie Douglas, Mariano Morales, and David Brunner, making significant contributions to the modern flute repertoire.

Her artistry is showcased on the critically acclaimed 2022 album Cubatina, which received the Global Music Award for Album of the Year and earned two Silver Medals for Instrumentalist and Duo. Garcia’s recorded performances also appear on the Sony Pictures film The End of the Spear and in multiple Netflix productions.

In August 2025, Garcia was invited to premiere a flute and string quartet by Mariano Morales at the National Flute Association Gala Concert.  She served as Artist-in-Residence and Visiting Scholar at Mahidol University, Thailand in November 2025. In 2026, Garcia will serve as Principal Flute Artist at the Sunriver Flute Festival in Oregon and will appear in performances across the United States, Europe and Mexico.
