Narongchaii Pidokrajt was born in Bangkok, Thailand. His early music study was at the College of Dramatic Arts, Bangkok. During this period, he studied the Thai dance practice “Khon” and Thai Classical Music. Pidokrajt earned a Bachelor Degree in Thai Literature from Srinakarinwirot University followed by a Master Degree in Higher Education. He followed this in 1991 with a Master Degree in Cultural Music and finally a Ph.D. in Musicology from Mahidol University
PIdokrajt serves on the faculty of the College of Music, Mahidol University in the Musicology Departmetn. His duties include teaching graduate coursework, research in Thai Music and Music Education. He has written numerous articles, books and textbooks. Pidokrajt believes his job is to work to spread knowledge about the rich music history and traditions of Thailand with society, so that the heritage of Thai music has a strong future.
