The College of Music, Mahidol University, in collaboration with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO), organized the Calls for Schools program at Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University, on 4 July 2026, providing Thai students with the opportunity to experience a world-class orchestral performance through the TPO Experience: Master Works Series – American Spectacular, presented in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence.
The concert featured the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Carl St. Clair, with acclaimed trumpet soloist Thomas Hooten, Principal Trumpet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Audiences also enjoyed a diverse program of American masterpieces by Leonard Bernstein, Samuel Barber, Duke Ellington, and George Gershwin, showcasing the richness and spirit of American music.
A total of 619 students and teachers from 15 educational institutions participated in the program, including:
Saithammachan School (Ratchaburi), Rajavinit Mathayom School (Bangkok), Debsirin Nonthaburi School (Nonthaburi), Trimit Wittayalai School (Bangkok), Bangpleeratbamrung School (Samut Prakan), Saint Gabriel’s College (Bangkok), Naresuan University (Phitsanulok), Assumption College Sriracha (Chonburi), Thepsatri Rajabhat University (Lopburi), Nonthaburi Wittayalai School (Chonburi), Benjamarachutit School (Chachoengsao) , Bang Pa-in Rachanukroh 1 School (Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya), Build To Suit Education Centre Bangkok, Pathumwilai School (Pathum Thani), and Surasakmontree School (Bangkok).
Participants also toured Prince Mahidol Hall, learned more about the College of Music’s academic programs, and attended the Pre-Concert Talk before the performance.
The Calls for Schools program continues to inspire young people by providing meaningful access to world-class performances, encouraging creativity, and nurturing the next generation of musicians.
