On February 20, 2026 – The College of Music, Mahidol University, was honored to host a special workshop titled “Memorizing Music: Some Suggestions from Neuroscience,” led by the distinguished Prof. Bernard Lanskey, a member of the college’s International Artist Advisory Council.
The event, held at Room D404, received an overwhelming response, with a full house consisting of faculty members, students, and interested members of the public. Prof. Lanskey shared profound insights into the “Musical Brain,” demonstrating how understanding neuroscience can revolutionize the way musicians practice. The session focused on techniques to practice smarter, memorize faster, and perform with greater freedom and confidence.
Beyond musical mastery, the workshop offered practical knowledge on memory systems—Auditory, Visual, and Analytical—which participants can apply to enhance cognitive efficiency in their daily lives and professional endeavors.
The College of Music, Mahidol University, extends its deepest gratitude to Prof. Lanskey for his generosity in sharing such transformative knowledge. His expertise continues to inspire our community to reach new heights of artistic and academic excellence.
