Learning and Assessment
As students learn through the application of knowledge through projects, curriculum study themes and apply their 21st century skill, we recognise the differences between learners; and emphasize the role the classroom differentiation is achieved through the written, taught and assessed curriculum.
Assessment is Based on Mastery Targets
We believe in criteria referencing i.e. students are not graded against each other but against learning attainment targets (standards based education) stated in writing and recorded by mastery statements. Each students has a learning and assessment portfolio which records skills and knowledge based on the mastery statements. We aim to promote good inclusive practice.
Every syllabus contains mastery targets and levels for that subject and also assesses student goals and core skills.
