Career Highlights
Gritsada Huncharoen is a lecturer in the Department of Music Therapy at the College of Music, Mahidol University, and serves as the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) in the Pre-College Program (YAMP). He has extensive professional experience as a music educator, SENCo, and school counselor. He is also a visiting lecturer in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). His expertise lies in music in special education, inclusive music education, and CBT.
He is a board member of the Cognitive Behavior Therapy Alliance of Thailand and frequently participates in national and international trainings and workshops in the fields of music education, music therapy, and CBT. He also delivers lectures and workshops on topics including music in special education, musician’s mental health and wellbeing, mental health in educational settings, and CBT, as well as teaching courses in human development and music learning, counseling techniques for music therapists, and music therapy in psychiatric settings.
His research and professional interests span across music therapy for individuals with special needs, music and community, music and wellbeing, and mental health. He has led and contributed to projects funded by the Thai Media Fund, Thai Health Promotion Foundation, the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), and the College of Music, Mahidol University. His projects and research cover a wide spectrum, ranging from “Learning Emotional Regulation through Music Activities for Children” and “The Relationships Between Music Preferences, Musical Engagement and Depression in Adolescents,” to the “Research and Development of a Prototype Music Activity to Promote Well-being of the Elderly.” He has also worked on “Music Therapy for Emotional Wellbeing During a Crisis” and extended his research into clinical applications of music therapy, particularly in pain management for emergency care units and supportive interventions for patients with cancer.
