Career Highlights

Korak Lertpibulchai graduated from Mahidol University (BM, 2011), Illinois State University (MM, 2013), and the University of Iowa (DMA, 2017). Her primary teachers have included Dr. Ksenia Nosikova, Dr. Eri Nakagawa, Dr. Joshua Russell, Dr. Mina Ivanova, Dr. Ramasoon Sitalayan, and Supaphon Vibulpanuvej.

An advocate for new music, Korak was appointed as a pianist for the University of Iowa Center for New Music (2014-2017) and has given world premieres and performed numerous works by composers such as David Lang, Kaija Saariaho, Dimitri Papageorgiou, Augusta Read Thomas, Abrahamsen Hans, Irina Dubkova, Bruno Maderna, Robert Moran, Michael Fiday, Dan Welcher, Louis Karchin, and Adam Greene, among others.

Korak has given solo and chamber performances in the United States, Spain, Italy, Singapore, and major music conservatories in China such as Sichuan Conservatory of Music, Shanghai Conservatory, Central Conservatory, Xi’an Conservatory, and Tianjin Conservatory, etc. She is also a founding member of the trio “AmaCor” with cellist Marcin Szawelski and clarinetist Hannelore Vermeir, and the “Salaya Duo” with percussionist Wannapha Yannavut. They made their debut in a Guest Artist Recital at the University of Iowa, USA (2023). Korak performed with world-class artists at the IDRS Conference 2023, including Monica Ellis (bassoon), Sophie Dervaux (bassoon), and Jose Masmano (oboe). Most recently, Korak has given a solo recital and masterclasses at the Conservatorio di musica Giuseppe Tartini, Trieste in Italy, (May 2024).

Korak Lertpibulchai has served on the Jury for the Osaka International Music Competition Bangkok Regional (2023), the 5th Thailand International Piano Competition (2018), Young Artist Music Contest (since 2018), the Quad Cities Baroque Competition (2013), The SET Youth Music Competition.

She has also recorded music by David Gompper and Alan Schnitz, as well as a recording project featuring works by Thai composers, showcasing the sound palette and aesthetic of Thai contemporary music for solo piano.

Currently, Korak serves as the Chair of the Piano Department at the College of Music, Mahidol University.
