Career Highlights

Thanapoom Sriwiset is currently Instructor of Trombone at Mahidol University College of Music and he has been a member of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra as an Associate Principal Bass Trombone since 2010. Besides, he is a Co-founder/member of Million Wind Philharmonic and Thailand Brass.

Thanapoom has received his Bachelor (Second Class Honor) and Master’s degree from Mahidol University College of Music under instruction of Dr. Sean Scot Reed and Prof. Philip Brink. Afterwards, he studied trombone with Prof. Thomas Eibinger at University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, Austria, where he has opportunity to perform with the Grazer Philharmoniker at Opernhaus Graz.

During his studies, Thanapoom honored to receive Full-scholarship including Young Artists Entrance Scholarship in 2008, Academic Merit Scholarship in 2009 and OeAD Scholarship in 2012. He was a member of KUG Orchestra and Opera, Mahidol Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony and Jazz Orchestra. In addition, he has joined a member of the Southeast Asian Youth Wind Ensemble and Orchestra from 2004-2010.

As an educator and performer, Thanapoom appeared as a trombone instructor at Mahidol University College of Music since 2016 along with teaching trombone at the Thai Youth Orchestra. He has been invited to teach, giving master class and perform on various festivals such as Thailand International Trombone Festival, Trombone Day Malaysia, Thailand International Brass and Percussion Conference, Yamaha Music Festival, Thailand Brass Day, Tuba Mania International Festival, Thailand Trombone Festival and Music Element, YAMP Winds and Percussion Day, TIWEC Brass Camp, Mahidol Brass and Percussion Camp, MCGP Youth Wind Ensemble Camp, Thai Royal Army Music Department.
