Last week, Dr. Narong Prangcharoen, dean of the College of Music, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Joseph Bowman, Associate Dean for International Relations, attended the International Benchmarking Group (IBG) conference, hosted by the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore, joining principals and colleagues from eight other top music schools around the world to share data, insights and practices to advance the higher music education sector. Discussions ranged from student recruitment, digitalisation, innovation in curriculum development, staff development, societal impact, and cross-institution alliances. A rich exchange of ideas which will inform our educational and artistic offerings moving forward!
The IBG is a network of 11 of the world’s leading conservatoires which seeks to enhance the professional and personal development of young musicians through the sharing of best practices and data as well as institutional collaborations – ensuring that its member institutions remain at the forefront of conservatoire education and training globally.
