Dr. Piyawat Louilarpprasert, Dean of the College of Music, Mahidol University, delivered the final-day keynote address at the “Performers(‘) Present” Artistic Research Symposium at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST) in Singapore on 25 October 2026.
In his keynote titled “Rethink, ReBuild, ReCreate: The Artist as Institutional Architect in Southeast Asian Music Education,” Dr. Piyawat shared his vision for institutional leadership in a rapidly evolving global landscape. He invited international delegates to rethink established traditions in higher music education and proposed new collaborative frameworks to rebuild and recreate structures across Southeast Asia and the ASEAN region—highlighting the vital role of artists as institutional architects.
This keynote engagement reflects the College’s active leadership in international arts education, advancing our vision “The World is Here…at Mahidol” through regional partnership and global dialogue.
