Colonel Prateep Suphanrojn

Col. Prateep Suphanrojn was born on August 3, 1972 at Suphan Buri, Thailand. Then in 1988 he joined in the Royal Thai Army School of Music as the Oboist and the Tubaist. After graduated in 1996, he received scholarship from the Royal Thai Army to study the Band Master Course at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall and Kingston University. He received the Bandmastership from the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (LRSM) in 1997 and a Bachelor of Arts from the Kingston University in 1998. In the same year he won the prizes for competition as following:

1. Second prize for Conducting received Presentation Metronome and Silver Plated Dish 2. Second prize for Brass Band Arrangement received Silver Plated Dish 3. Second prize for Ministry of Defense Examination received Silver Plated Dish 4. Winner prize for Marches Composition received The Commandant's Prize and Silver Plated Dish 5. Winner prize for Original Composition received Somerville Prize and Silver Plated Dish 6. Winner prize for Popular Songs Arrangement received The Tomlison Award and Silver Plated Dish 7. Winner prize for Best Oversea Student received Graham Wallace Award and Silver Plated Dish and 8. Winner prize for Best All-Round Student received The Worshipful Company of Musician's, Medal and Silver Plated Dish.

In 2007 he graduated the Master Degree in composition from college of music, Mahidol University. At present, he is the orchestra director of the Royal Thai Army Symphony Orchestra. He is the resident conductor and composer of Dr. Sax Chamber Orchestra in Music Talent Research Project and Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, also he is studying Doctor of Music in composition and theory music, international program at college of music Mahidol University.


Tewan Sabsanyakorn

Tewan Sabsanyakorn or in his new name as Maytawatr Sabsanyakorn, born in Nakorn Ratchasima province and interested in music since he was 5-6 years old. He started practicing music both of Eastern and Western music instruments by himself until he was 12 and joined school marching band when he was in secondary school (Nakorn Ratchasima College) in Brass section (Horn) and began to play the saxophone at the Youth Center at aged 17, continued his carrier path as Saxophonist for 50 years by start working with restaurants, night clubs and events. He interested in playing music in the jazz theory more than 30 years by creating his own jazz style. It is recognized by the Thai people and foreigners as a famous saxophonist. He was accepted as the first and only saxophonist of Thailand and Asia that has a unique saxophone player, and last but not least, he has been playing with famous musicians from Asia, Europe and America. He has been invited to play at the JAZZ FESTIVAL many times.

Nowadays, he starts to play in solo saxophone pieces and produce by his own style. Moreover, he also can play violin, Thai flute, cucurbit flute, in the talented way to play and adapt in a very interesting way. He can be composed of all kinds of melodies and lyrics, music (vocal harmonies), and has created a new jazz style in the unique way by using a Thai music instruments band "TEWAN NOVEL JAZZ" for over 20 years ago. And this is the new era of the Jazz in our country, it is impact and touching to the people, by listening to his music, expressions to listeners and he is one of the jazz idol that makes many people follow his journey.

Part of the his social activity, he has been invited to many school and college as a lecturer and doing a workshop for music to creating a better music society without gaining any benefit.


Surasi Chanoksakul

Surasi Chanoksakul formal Principal Trumpet of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, since he was appointed in 2007, he has served as Co-Principal Trumpet of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, since November 2016 until present. Prior to his appointment he performed with the Bangkok Symphony and the Chao Phraya Symphony Orchestra.

One of the most in-demand trumpet artists in Thailand today, Chanoksakul has given performances and master classes throughout the region. He has taught thousands of music students in clinics, workshops and master classes. He has extensive experience in both concert and marching band, and regularly adjudicates festivals and competitions. He has been a faculty member of the Department of Music, Kasetsart University since 1998.

Chanoksakul is an active chamber musician, and performs regularly with the Bangkok Brassberry Quintet, who gives numerous performances both in Thailand and internationally. He also performs with the Thailand Philharmonic Brass Quintet and several other groups.

Chanoksakul enjoys incredible crossover success, and performs and records in jazz and commercial styles with artists at concert events such as Bird Thongchai, Marsha Wattanapanich , Am Saowalak, Nong Plub, Nong Ploy, UHT,Da Endophine, Revolution, Koh Mr.Saxman, Soul After Six, T-Bone, Byrd-Heart, H.R.U., JRP Big Band, Heineken Jazz Festival, Bangkok Jazz Festival, Infinity Band, Mr.Team Band, 10th years Bakery Concert, Groove Rider, Woman in Love Concert, Benmore, Heineken, Love IS Concert,Rhythm&Boyd Eleventh, Chatree Band, Brasswave Band, Bodyslam,Blackhead,E.T.C., Be Peerapat, The Impossibles and many more. He is the first call trumpet for most commercial recordings companies in Thailand, including Grammy Entertainment, RS Promotion, Bakery Music, Love Is Etc.


Yos Vaneesorn

Yos Vaneesorn graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand with first-class honor. During the years of study, Yos participated in several music events including ASEAN Youth Orchestra in 1994 and 1995 respectively and Asian Youth Orchestra in 1998 and 2000. After his graduation from Chulalongkorn University in 1997, he was appointed as a principal clarinetist of Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra (RBSO).

In 2002 and 2004, he was offered full scholarships from Louisiana State University and University of Missouri at Kansas-City to pursue his clarinet study in Master's and Doctoral degrees. His teachers include Noppachai Choltidchantha, Stanley Hasty, Steven Barta, Steve Cohen, and Jane Carl.

In 2007, Yos was granted a teaching position at Kasetsart University. Currently he is teaching at Silpakorn University. Yos also actively performs with several orchestras as a co-principal clarinetist of Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, and a principal clarinetist of Bangkok Opera and Siam Philharmonic Orchestra. Moreover, he also appeared as a soloist with National Symphony Orchestra and Chulalongkorn University Orchestra.Hong Hong Chamber Wind Philharmonia, and Feroci Philharmonic Winds. In 2013, he organized the Thailand Clarinet Competition, the first clarinet competition in Thailand.


Surapol Thanyawibool

Mr Surapol has also participated in the Concert Band Programme in Tenri, Nara, Japan and the Mid-West Bands and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, USA.

Currently, Mr Surapol is the Lecturer of Western Music Division at the Kasetsart University in Thailand and also the Music Director of the university's Wind Symphony. A familiar face with many Asian and Singapore bands, Mr Surapol Thanyawibool is known to be one of the most distinguished conductors from Thailand. He has worked with bands in many countries and led ensembles to garner outstanding achievements in local and international music event.

Mr Surapol graduated from the Chulalongkorn University and has participated in many significant international events. His involvement in the performing arts scene includes being the Show Director of the "United of Asia" Performance at the Opening Ceremony of the 13th Asian Games and the Coordinator for the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation at the Special Concert in Celebration of His Majesty's Golden Jubilee performance by the World Philharmonic Orchestra.

Mr Surapol conducted the Bangkok Christian College Band and Wat Suthiwararam School Band which the latter clinched the First Prize with Distinction and Trophy of the Week at the World Music Contest in Kerade, Netherlands in 1996 under his leadership.


Anupong Amatayakul

Ajarn Anupong Amatayakul was born on 9th June 1956 in Bangkok. Started learning trombone at Watsuthiwararam School in 1971-1976 and studied Jazz composition and arranging course through Berklee College of Music program with Professor Panatchai Suppamitra in 1977-1980. Ajarn Anupong gradually gaining more professional trombone technique with Professor Per Gade on his workshops and master class in Bangkok in 1983 afterwards.

. Passed the audition for Principle Trombone position for The ASEAN Youth Symphony Orchestra in Indonesia in 1982 and in Philippine in 1984.
. Guest Conductor of the ASEAN Youth Symphonic Band in Singapore in 1992 and in Thailand in 1994.
. Trombonist member of the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra in 1984-1989.
. Trombone Instructor at the Department of music Faculty of Education and Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Chulalongkorn University in 1984-1994 together with Department of music Faculty of Humanities at Kasetsart University in 1984-1990.
. Band Director of Watsuthiwararam School Symphonic Band in 1986-1994 until received the Golden Price and King Rama IX's Cup from the All Thailand Band Competition in 1991 and received the Golden Price and Day Price from the 12th World Music Contest (WMC) in Netherlands in 1993
. Band Director of Darasamutr Sriracha School Marching Band since 1991 until received the Golden Price and King Rama IX's Cup twice from the All Thailand Band Competition in 1998 and in 2000 and afterwards, received the Golden Price from the World Marching Show Band Contest (WMSB) in Australia in 1999.

As for today Ajarn Anupong Amatayakul is the Founder and Director of keyboard ensemble class program as a piano Instructor and a school band Superior Advisor at Darasamutr School Sriracha. Ajarn Anupong is also a freelance producer, composer and arranger for orchestrate music.


Michael Robinson, Jr.

Dr. Michael Robinson, Jr. is originally from Charleston, SC where he attended Burke High School under the direction of Linard McCloud. He has been an active freelance trombonist in Michigan and South Carolina as well as a private low brass instructor in Dorchester District 2, Berkeley, and Charleston Counties. He is currently the Lecturer of Trombone at Mahidol University College of Music, as well as Principal Trombone with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra.

From 2007-09, he was awarded a 2-year contract as the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Fellow where his duties included playing principal and second trombone, along with community outreach services in the Detroit Metro Area. He has held positions such as acting 2nd trombone with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Saginaw Bay Symphony, Canton Symphony, and Principal with the West Michigan Symphony. Also, he has subbed with the Grand Rapids Symphony, Toledo Symphony, Lansing Symphony, Charleston Symphony, and the Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings. Aside from classical music, he has been in several Broadway pit orchestras at the Fisher Theater in Detroit, the Wharton Center in East Lansing, the Strahan Theatre in Toledo, and the Devos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids. He is also a member of the Variance Brass Quintet with members from his undergraduate studies. As an avid chamber music performer, he is a member of the Variance Brass Quintet, which started a summer brass camp in 2015 in Tucson, AZ. Most recently, he is a founding member of an African-American brass quartet named Pitch.

His summer festivals include the Aspen Music Festival, Bay View Music Festival, National Repertory Orchestra, and the Spoleto Festival USA. In the summers of 2005 and 2006, he toured Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Margarita Island, England, France, Italy, Belgium, and Germany with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas under the baton of Carlos Prieto, the music director of the Louisiana Philharmonic, and Gustavo Dudamel, music director for the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He is the two-time winner of the Tuesday Musical Solo Competition in Akron, Ohio, and he won the concerto competition as a student at Shenandoah University and Michigan State University. In 1998, he was a member of the National Wind Ensemble at Carnegie Hall under the direction of H. Robert Reynolds, Former Music Director at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

Dr. Robinson received his Bachelor of Music Degree from Shenandoah University, Master of Music along with an Artist Diploma from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Michigan State University where was he was a University Distinguished Fellow. His teachers include Ken Thompkins, Randy Hawes, Steve Witser, Rick Stout, Per Brevig, Chris Matten, and Ava Ordman.

Patrawut Punputhaphong

Patrawut Punputhaphong is a bassoonist of Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra. He was born in 1971, Bangkok. He graduated from Chulalongkorn University, Faculty of Education and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts as Major Bassoon Performance.

He started to play bassoon when he was 14 years old, he played in school's band, and not long after that he has the opportunity to master class with Loren Grickman (American bassoonist from Julliard School of Music) before he continued his study at Chulalongkorn University in 1989. A year later he won a scholarship to study at Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Hong Kong and he finished his bachelor's degree in education at Chulalongkorn University in 1996. Around that time he also studies conducting with Asst.Prof.Col.Choochart Pitaksakorn and RDAM.Veeraphan Vawklang and he was chosen to conduct C.U. Symphony Orchestra while he was a student.

He attended ASEAN youth music workshop at Malaysia in 1988, Indonesia in 1991 and Thailand in 1996. In 1991 he was the principal bassoon of Asian Youth Orchestra and tour concerts in Japan, China, Singapore and Hong Kong. In 1993 he got scholarship to attended Bassoon Camp in North Carolina, USA and Montreal International Music Camp, Quebec, Canada in 1999 also from Canton International Summer Music Academy 2005, China in 2005.


Capt. Pasakorn Suwanaphan

Capt. Pasakorn Suwanaphan graduated in 1980, from The Royal Thai navy School of Music, Royal Thai Navy Music Division. After graduated from music school, he received a scholarship to pursue undergraduate program in Clarinet studies and Bandmaster Course from The Royal Marines School of Music Deal in United Kingdom. He received A.L.C.M. and L.L.C.M. from London College of Music and his Master Degree in Saxophone studies from Mahidol University.

Capt. Suwannaphan main duties in the Royal Naval Infantry Division are Head of Choral and Performing Arts, Head of School of Naval Music School, Head of Bands, Head of Academic Affairs, Deputy Director of Naval Music School and Military Technician. He is currently serving as Deputy Head of Naval Music, Bangkok Naval Base.
