Final Round Result

As the College of Music, Mahidol University, has organized Thailand International Jazz Conference Composition Competition 2022, the final round adjudication was conducted on Monday April 4, 2022 from 13.30 – 16.00 at the College of Music Mahidol University.

After the judging of the eight compositions in final round, the College of Music hereby announce the winner of Thailand International Jazz Conference Composition Competition 2022 as follows.

Adjudicators

Darin Pantoomkomol

Darin Pantoomkomol is A jazz educator and performer, Darin Pantoomkomol was born in 1971 and began studying piano at the age of 8 and guitar at the age of 9. He graduated with a Bachelor and Master of Business Administration from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, and the University of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, respectively. Since his primary school days, Darin has had a strong interest in music, especially in the style of jazz. Accordingly, As a performing musician, Darin has performed with several international jazz musicians

Darin Pantoomkomol has performed both as a leader and with Thailand's leading jazz group, "Pomelo Town", in many international music festival and concerts.

Associate Professor Dr. Denny Euprasert

Associate Professor Dr. Denny Euprasert earned a Doctor of Arts degree in Music Theory and Composition with a secondary emphasis in Jazz Pedagogy from University of Northern Colorado. He is the recipient of the Silpathorn Contemporary Artist Award from the Ministry of Culture. He has served as a jury member and/or guest faculty at numerous international music festivals and competitions such as Lebanon Jazz Workshop, Cyprus Jazz Workshop, Shanghai Jazz Summer Camp, University of South Africa International Piano Competition, Greeley Jazz Festival, and West Virginia International Piano Competition. Dr. Denny Euprasert was a visiting scholar at Washington and Lee University. Currently, he is the Dean of Rangsit University Conservatory of Music and the Director of RSU Jazz Orchestra.

Nu Vudthivichai

Nu Vudthivichai, as a jazz pianist, composer and the founder of jazZ happens!, the legendary small jazz bar, has always created music events for jazz youngsters to generate more awareness and recognition towards them and ultimately towards Thai audience.
