The winners of Thailand Steinway Piano Competition 2016

Two Mahidol’s College of Music students Win Prizes in Thailand Steinway Piano Competition 2016

The Final Round of the Thailand Steinway Piano Competition 2016 was held on May 8 at Siam Kempinski Hotel. Two Mahidol’s College of Music students under the tutelage of Assist. Prof. Dr. Eri Nakagawa won in the category of Concerto Competition.

The First Prize was awarded to Watcharit Kerdchuen (Year 4) who performed the 1st movement of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with accompanist Boonraksa Permthamsin.  Watcharit will be invited to perform the complete concerto with the Bangkok Charity Orchestra in its 2016-2017 season as the prize.

Piyavith Rojana (Year 4) played the 1st movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto K. 488 with accompanist Anant Changwaiwit in the final and received Second Prize with 20,000 Baht cash award.  Congratulations to both students!
