Alex Sipiagin Quintet

Scott Colley, Double bassist

Scott Colley's stature as a leading bassist in the field of improvised music is well known, and easily measured. He's been called "one of the leading bassists of our postbop era, and a composer-bandleader of quietly serious resolve" by The New York Times, while musical colleagues, like saxophonist Joshua Redman, praise him for being "one of the most musical bassists playing today. To me, he seems to have…this natural, intuitive, empathic sense of how to bring the most out of the other musicians and the music he's playing."

Colley, a three time Grammy nominee, has performed on over 200 recordings, eight of those as bandleader and composer. He is a first-call sideman, as renowned for his role in groups led by well-known headliners—John Scofield, Herbie Hancock, Chris Potter, many others—as he is for being part of all-star projects like "Still Dreaming" with Joshua Redman, Ron Miles, and Brian Blade; and "Steel House" with Edward Simon and Brian Blade.

John Escreet

Alex Sipiagin Quintet

John Escreet, Pianist

Over the course of his career, John Escreet has earned a reputation as one of the most active and diverse pianist/composers working in jazz and improvised music. His prolific output is reflected over the course of 7 diverse and critically acclaimed albums - the most recent being The Unknown which partners his working Trio (with John Hébert on bass and Tyshawn Sorey on drums) with the iconic free-jazz saxophonist Evan Parker.

Bursting on to the scene with his 2008 debut album Consequences, Escreet quickly earned a reputation as one of the most exciting new pianist/composers to have emerged in recent years, with Downbeat magazine proclaiming "John Escreet's recent debut Consequences signals the jumpstart of a new voice in jazz." Similar praise followed for his 2010 sophomore release Don't Fight The Inevitable, of which the New York Times' Ben Ratliff said "… on an ambitious second album, the pianist John Escreet seems to be thinking about where jazz can go next. He's using lots of structure and instrumental texture, cruising through different languages, straight-ahead and free and in between; it's like a tour of the last 25 years of serious jazz." 2011 saw two releases - The Age We Live In, and Exception To The Rule, followed by 2013's Sabotage and Celebration, all of which received widespread international critical acclaim. The latest addition to this impressive catalog is 2014's Sound, Space and Structures.

Omer Avital

Omer Avital Quintet

Omer Avital, Bass

Israeli-born and Brooklyn-based, Omer Avital is internationally acclaimed as a virtuoso bassist and as a transformational composer and musical thinker. Avital is a master of the various rhythmic and harmonic vocabularies that underpin 20th and 21st century hardcore jazz expression, which he approaches with a polyphonic attitude and articulates with prodigious technique. He is an avatar of musical multilingualism, as fluent spinning out an erudite walking bassline as creating gorgeous melodies from percolating North African grooves, elemental vamps and Middle Eastern scales.

Born in 1971, Avital grew up in Givatayim, Israel in a Moroccan-Yemenite family. He studied at a local conservatory before entering the Thelma Yellin School of the Performing Arts in Tel Aviv. Initially a devotee of blues guitar and Jaco Pastorius, he began listening to the music of Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus and Duke Ellington, bought an upright bass, and quickly became a fixture on Tel Aviv's jazz scene. After a year of mandatory military service, which he spent in the Israeli Air Force Orchestra, Avital flew to New York in 1992.

Indeedweneed

Indeedweneed

Everyone in the band is a graduate of the faculty of music in the jazz major at Silpakorn University. They all have participated in many competitions and great performances, including on both national and international stages. The first person igniting the inspiration behind the band was Warin Thatan (Tao) the bassist. To begin with, all were musicians at Jazz Happens Bar, Phra Athit road. Although they were in different bands at that time, they had the same taste in music. For this reason, they all decided to start InDeedweNeed, which is in a jazz rock style of music. The band focuses on communication by improvising with aggressive music.

In 2014, InDeedweNeed released its first album called 'Tang Fang' which consists of 2 members — Warin Thatan (Bassist) and Thirachet Meesaiyaat (Guitarist). The outstanding point of this album is the beautiful song lyrics. There is a combination between poetry and jazz rock music which expresses the surreal love stories and satirizes society.

In 2016, they invited "Preedipat Kampan (Luang)" to be part of the band as a drummer. After that, they released their second album, 'Feed'. All songs in this album are instrumental music except the song 'Rocks'. The 'Rocks' song interestingly combined the delicate poetry from Saran Semathong with 'Protozua', the famous rapper in Bangkok from 'RAP IS NOW'.
