Dr. Mahakit Lerdcheewanan is a violin faculty member at the College of Music, Mahidol University, and a member of the Libere String Quartet, the college\u2019s faculty ensemble. He also serves as the Associate Concertmaster of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra.<\/span><\/p>\n During his time in the United States, Dr. Lerdcheewanan performed with several ensembles, including the Baton Rouge, Acadiana, and Lake Charles Symphony Orchestras. In Thailand, he has performed extensively with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra and the Siam Sinfonietta, touring internationally with both. In 2022, he served as guest concertmaster for the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra during their tour of major concert halls in Europe. He has also appeared as a soloist with the Bangkok Metropolitan Orchestra and various local ensembles.<\/span><\/p>\n With the Libere String Quartet, Dr. Lerdcheewanan has performed for over a decade, collaborating with international artists such as Christoph Hartmann and Benjamin Hoadley. Described by <\/span>The Strad<\/span><\/i> magazine as \u201csensually sonorous,\u201d the quartet focuses on performing diverse repertoire, including lesser-known compositions. The ensemble is also active in educational outreach, conducting masterclasses and private lessons for students throughout Thailand.<\/span><\/p>\n Dr. Lerdcheewanan has a strong interest in contemporary music and has premiered many new solo and chamber works. In 2019, he gave the world premiere of a violin concerto written for and dedicated to him by Thai composer Anantasit Na-Gnam.
