Vienna All Stars Chamber Music Competition 2015

On Saturday 19. December 2015 the first “ Vienna All Stars Chamber Music Competition” was held at the College of Music Mahidol University. This is a new internal competition for students who are currently enrolled at the College of Music. The were two categories:

Category A – String Quartet

Category B – Piano Trio/Piano Quartet

Ensembles had to perform a work by Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven, as well as an encore piece of their free choice.

6 ensembles entered for Category A, and 4 ensembles entered in Category B.

The committee were: Aj Kyle Anuncius (Chair), Aj Rolf Dieter Arens, Aj Paris Paraschoudis, Aj Stefanie Waegner, Aj Martin Grund.

All groups had taken the competition seriously and had prepared their programmes thoroughly. The level of playing was mostly high, and all he performances were much enjoyed by the committee.

The winners selected by the committee were:

Category A: Omkow Quartet

Category B: Tour de Trio

Special Prize for the best Pre-College Ensemble: Caviar Quartet

All participants received a certificate. The three winners will perform in a formal prize winners’ concert on March 6, 2016 at the Yamaha headquarters in Bangkok.
