The Salaya Chamber Orchestra Bio:
The Salaya Chamber Orchestra was founded in 2011. As they represented the String and Chamber Music Department of the College of Music, Mahidol University at the open house day. Since then, they have been given numerous concerts within the campus and around Bangkok areas. They are one of the bands that participated in the Music Educational Outreach project of the College of Music, Mahidol University, where they visit different schools and perform for the students.
The band has been studying with Stefanie Waegner. an enthusiastic chamber musician and a faculty of the Chamber Music Academy (CMA) at Mahidol University. The band consists of around 20 advanced string players. The Salaya String Chamber as a whole also wins awards regularly both nationally and internationally. Some of the players have been awarded scholarships to study, while many are also members of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO).
The Salaya Chamber Orchestra performs all the major works for string orchestra, as well as having lighter classical, salon and pop music in their repertoire.
