The College of Music’s Woodwinds Department is the largest and most comprehensive department of its kind in Southeast Asia. It is home to seven full-time faculty, four part-time faculty, and over 100 students ranging from Pre-College through Doctoral level.

She began learning how to play the piano from her mother three years old.
She was able to win a prize at various National and International music competition since 10years old, making her special talent recognized and being able to receive a love call from many orchestras for collaborations. She also got a prize of special brain model at the International Baden Master Class for Flute at 15years old the youngest. At 16years old, she entered a preparatory course in Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna, where she learned from M.Niedermayr who was a Solo flutist in Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
At 19years old, she entered the university of Music and Performing Arts Graz in Austria. First as a Korean, where she learned from D.Flury a principal flutist at the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, leading to achieving a diploma in the courses of graduation. She participated in the record production titled ⌜Chamber music “Klang Debuts Vol.33″ Mozart ‘Divertimento'(2006)⌟ with G. Boisits, a principal oboist at the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2010, She entered the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart in Germany and broaden her musical horizon through studying contemporary music and chamber music from A. Langkafel. She completed two master programs in 3 years with honours and remarkable achievements one of which could be done with scholarship fund. She learned Piccolo from J.Singer at the Stuttgart State Theatre and
learned also from M.Kofler, A.Adorjan, W.Hase, A.Firkins and T.Lüdinghausen for diversity of the flute playing. She served as guest Solo flutist of various orchestras and she acted as the Solo piccolist in Mannheim Philharmonic Orchestra. She had also held a position as a flute instructor at the State University of Music and Performing Arts and public school of music in Stuttgart.
She had reinforced her musical talent through experiences of attending final concerts at various international musical activities such as International Musicforum Viktring, International Emsbürener Musiktage, Internationalen Sommerakademie Chambermusic in Kloster Frenswegen, The international summer music festival and master class in Oberstdorf, Forum International Pour Flute et Piano – Diekirch(Luxembourg), Internationale Sommerakademie Prague-Wien-Budapest, International, Interantional music festival Varna(Bulgaria) summer and Arona Summer festival – Tenerife(Spain) etc. In 2012, She played at the Udine Contemporanea Festival in Italy, where the whole performance was broadcasted live streaming concert of the world. In 2013, Her outstanding talent for music could be again witnessed with a second prize at the Luigi Zanucolli International Competition in Italy. She was selected as a principal flutist in Thailand philharmonic orchestra activity from 2013 and working as a Lecturer in Mahidol University.
Kittima Molee was taken under the wing of John Mostad, former principal bassoonist of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, in the beginning of her formal training in bassoon at the College of Music, Mahidol University. Eventually, Ms. Molee received both her undergraduate and graduate degree from the College of Music, Mahidol University and graduated with summa cum laude.
Following her academic excellence, Ms. Molee received a full scholarship from ASEA UNINET to further her studies at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, where she performed regularly with the Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Collegium Musicum Salzburg, and Traunstein Youth Symphony in Germany.
Ms. Molee’s regional performance experience came about in 2005, where she participated in the 12th World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles Conference at Singapore, performing as principal bassoonist with the International Youth Wind Orchestra. Ms. Molee was also a part of the Southeast Asian Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble (2004-07) and the Southeast Asian Youth Chamber Orchestra (2012-13). Ms. Molee’s performs also as a chamber musician. She is a sought after bassoonist and performs regularly with the Amass Chamber Ensemble and the Sawasdee Woodwind Quintet, which she co-founded. The quintet has curated highly successful recitals in Thailand, Singapore, Macao, and a recent debut in China.
Ms. Molee strives to pass on to younger generations of what she has learned over the years and extended her musical career beyond performance into academia where Ms. Molee currently teaches as a bassoon instructor at her alma Mater – College of Music, Mahidol University. Before joining Mahidol University, she held the position of adjunct instructor at Bansomdejchaophraya Rajabhat University, Kasetsart University and Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music.
Previously, Ms. Molee has been invited to be a guest instructor and hold masterclasses both nationally and internationally at the MCGP Youth Winds Ensemble, the Yala Municipality Youth Orchestra, Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music, Silapakorn Music Summer School, Yamaha-Rangsit Youth Wind Orchestra, Nontri Youth Wind Orchestra and also the Singapore Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Throughout Ms. Molee’s musical career, she has studied with Dr. Christopher Schaub, Yoshinori Honda-Tominaga, Krekkrai Tangnoi, Dr. Elizabeth Shoemaker, and John Mostard.
Born in Bangkok, Thailand. Mr. Ratanapol received scholarship from ASEA-UNINET to study with principal clarinetist of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Prof. Stefan Schilling, at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz Austria, there he also studied orchestra-playing with Prof. Gottfried Boisits, Prof. Gerald Pachinger and Chamber music with Prof. Chia Chou (Trio Parnassus). In 2010 he furthered his study with Prof. Norbert Kaiser at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart Germany. In addition to his study, he participated in various masterclasses by world-renowned clarinetists such as Wenzel Fuchs, Hans-Dietrich Klaus, François Benda, Michel Lethiec, Larry Combs, Norbert Kaiser, Martin Spangenberg, Ronald van Spaendonck, Steven Barta and Bil Jackson. During his orchestra-clarinetist career, he has performed with lots of orchestras such as Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, Junge Oper Stuttgart, Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, Siam Philharmonic, Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. Moreover, from 2004-2006, he spent his summer in Asian Youth Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Sergiu Comissiona and Maestro Okko Kamu. In Asian Youth Orchestra, he also studied clarinet with Steven Barta. Being an orchestra-clarinetist, it took him to many parts of the world, including Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Japan, Hongkong, China, Singapore, Mayasia, Taiwan, Lebanon and the Philippines. Sooksan is currently the Instructor of Clairinet at College of Music, Mahidol University.

วิศุวัฒน์เกิดปี พ.ศ. 2528 ใช้ชีวิตวัยเด็กที่หาดใหญ่ จังหวัดสงขลา เริ่มเล่นแซกโซโฟนตอนอายุ 10 ปี ในฐานะสมาชิกวงโยธวาทิต โรงเรียนแสงทองวิทยา จากนั้นย้ายมาศึกษาหลักสูตรเตรียมอุดมดนตรี ที่วิทยาลัยดุริยางคศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล จนจบการศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตและมหาบัณฑิตด้านการแสดงดนตรี โดยร่ำเรียนกับเชน ลี (Shyen Lee) อาจารย์ชาวไต้หวันผู้เป็นแรงบันดาลใจ

วิศุวัฒน์ได้รับรางวัลจากการแข่งขันทั้งในประเทศและระดับนานาชาติจากการประกวด Asian Symphonic Band Competition ครั้งที่ 9 การแข่งขัน Osaka International Music Competition ครั้งที่ 8 และ Thailand Yamaha Big-Band Competition ปี 2543 ฯลฯ
ปัจจุบันเขาเป็นอาจารย์สอนแซกโซโฟนที่วิทยาลัยดุริยางคศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล สมาชิกวง Siam Saxophone Quartet และ Sax and String Quintet ทั้งยังเป็นนักเล่นคอนทราบาสซูน ให้กับวง Mahidol Wind Symphony และเล่นเบสในฐานะไซด์แมน
Grzegorz Grzeszczyk is one of the few representatives of younger generation of bass clarinet players in Europe. He devoted his musical life to specialize in bass clarinet. To achieve this he decided to study in Rotterdam under a famous bass clarinet professor and a great performer – prof. Henri Bok. He also graduated the clarinet class of prof. Bogdan Ocieszak at the Stanislaw Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdansk, Poland.
Grzegorz Grzeszczyk began to play bass clarinet in secondary music school and soon he started being recognized on the Polish clarinet scene as one of the first Polish bass clarinet solo players. During his academic years he won many prizes in competitions and clarinet festivals including:
– 2nd prize in the clarinet ensemble category at the 2nd Clarinet Festival in Szczecin, Poland (2006)
– Special Prize in the soloist category at the 3rd Clarinet Festival in Szczecin, Poland (2008)
– 3rd prize in the clarinet ensemble category and a Special Prize in the soloist category at the 8th Clarinet Festival in Piotrkow Trybunalski, Poland (2009)
– Special Prize in the soloist category and 2nd prize in the clarinet ensemble category at the 4th Clarinet Festival in Szczecin, Poland (2010)
– 3rd prize in the soloist category and 2nd prize in the clarinet ensemble category at the 9th Clarinet Festival in Piotrkow Trybunalski, Poland (2011)
– 1st prize in the clarinet ensemble category at the 5th Clarinet Festival in Szczecin, Poland (2012)
– 3rd Prize at the first Bass clarinet competition in Avila, Spain (2012).
Mr. Grzeszczyk worked with many symphonic orchestras playing the bass clarinet: Symphony Orchestra of India (Mumbai), Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra (Gdansk), Baltic Opera (Gdansk), Wojciech Rajski Chamber Orchestra, Polish Philharmonic Orchestra in Kalisz just to name a few. He also worked with a great Polish jazz trumpet player Piotr Wojtasik in his project “Circle” (concerts in Berlin, Paris, Warsaw) and also with a Polish jazz pianist and composer Nikola Kolodziejczyk in his “Chord Nation” project, and “Progressive Baroque” project. In 2015 The Chord Nation CD was awarded a prestigious Fryderyk music award for recording debut of the year in the jazz category.
Since November 2012 Grzegorz Grzeszczyk is the bass clarinet instructor at the College of Music at Mahidol University in Thailand and the bass clarinetist of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra.
HIROSHI MATSUSHIMA has been a Resident Artist and Professor of Flute at the Mahidol University College of Music since the fall of 2002. Prior to his arrival in Thailand, Mr. Matsushima has appeared at major music festivals in Europe, such as Reichenau/Bodensee, Rheingau, MDR-Musiksommer and Schleswig-Holstein. He has performed as Flutist of the Asian Youth Orchestra, Hof Symphony, Munich Symphony, Munich Chamber Orchestra and Philharmonia of the Nations in Germany.
An avid proponent of new music and music of the Japans, Hiroshi Matsushima has commissioned and performed works by notable composers. Residing in Thailand, he has not ceased to contribute to introduce Japanese music culture, having collaborated with musicians of Japanese traditional instruments and been sent to Chiangmai and Yangon as a cultural mission by the Japan Foundation.
Hiroshi Matsushima is highly regarded as a thoughtful, engaging, and challenging teacher. He is frequently asked to teach master classes and has been serving as an artist/faculty of Southeast Asian Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble (SAYOWE) since its foundation in 2003.
A graduate of the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik Karlsruhe and guest student at the Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mozarteum in Salzburg, Matsushima has extensively studied with Renate Greiss-Armin, Matthias Allin and Irena Grafenauer. While spent in Europe, Hiroshi Matsushima also studied with Andrea Lieberknecht, Andreas Blau, Dieter Flury, Peter-Lukas Graf and Jean-Pierre Rampal. In his native Japan, Mr. Matsushima studied with Etsuro Sano and Kanichi Tanaka.
Shyen Lee is the saxophonist from Taiwan. He dedicates himself in pioneering toward developing pedagogy, traditional and modern repertoire and various forms for saxophone performance.
He currently serves as the professor of saxophone in Mahidol University, Thailand. Also he is appointed to be Organizer and Artistic Director of the 2nd International J-M Londeix International Competition and World Saxophone Congress XV.
Shyen Lee appeared as solo recitalist in various concert halls including Lincoln Center, Paine Hall in Harvard University as well in Montreal, Minneapolis, Paris, Fermo (Italy), Ljubljana, Kiev, Bangkok, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei and other cities all over China and Taiwan. With Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, he was the soloist for the Concerto by H. Tomasi under the baton of Jeannine Wagar in the season of 2006-07.
Shyen Lee premiered pieces by John Harbison, Larry Bell, Gunther Schuller, and Bernard Rands. In addition to performing saxophone repertoire by western composers, he also commissioned pieces by leading Chinese composers including Lei Liang, Yiu-Kwong Chung, Tzyy-Sheng, and Che-Yi Lee.
To promote saxophone performance in Asia, he organizes saxophone summer camps in Bangkok, Taiwan and China every year. In 2006, he acted as the organizer and the composition presenter of Thailand International Composition for Saxophone.
Shyen Lee studied with Kenneth Radnofsky in New England Conservatory (BM, 96) and Dr. John Sampen in Bowling Green University (MM, 98).
Cooper Wright is an active performer and educator in Asia. A member of the faculty of the College of Music, Mahidol University since 2013, he teaches applied oboe, oboe literature and pedagogy and chamber music. Formerly Principal Oboe of the Thailand Philharmonic and a featured soloist, Mr. Wright is currently the Principal Oboist of the Bandung Philharmonic. Mr. Wright has taught masterclasses internationally in the United States, Indonesia, Thailand, and Myanmar. Cooper Wright completed his Bachelor’s of Music at Michigan State University, a Master’s at the University of Oregon, and will be completing his DMA in spring of 2019 at Arizona State University.
Christopher Schaub joined the staff of the College of Music, Mahidol University in 2007, where he currently serves as instructor of bassoon and Assistant Dean for International Recruitment. He additionally teaches various lecture courses, including those in music theory, performance practice, music education, research methodology, and chamber music. Dr. Schaub is also an instructor for SAYOWE (Southeast Asian Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble) and is a founding board member of the Asian Double Reed Association (ADRA). In August of 2011 he hosted the first international conference of the ADRA, held at the College of Music, Mahidol University.
Along with teaching duties, Schaub is active as a bassoonist. He is co-principal bassoon of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO), Thailand’s leading orchestral ensemble. The TPO performs 60 concerts per year and is often engaged to perform outside of Thailand. In February of 2009 Dr. Schaub performed the Weber Bassoon Concerto in F Major and in August of 2011 performed the Mozart Symphony Concertante, both with the TPO. Other playing opportunities include regular faculty recitals and chamber music concerts.
Schaub has many research interests, including bassoon pedagogy and literature, as well as the development of woodwind teaching and playing in Thailand. He was awarded a research grant from Mahidol University to publish a website devoted to the study of bassoon orchestral excerpts (www.bassoonexcerpts.org), which will be published in 2018.
Dr. Schaub received his B.S. degree in music education from Towson University. From Florida State University he received both the M.M. and D.M. degrees in bassoon performance, as well as the Music Theory Pedagogy Certificate. His principal teachers include Dr. Gene Griswold and Jeff Keesecker.
After earned a Bachelor degree in Sports Science with 2nd class honour from Chulalongkorn university, Kalteera pursues her passion in Music Education by continue her study at College of Music, Mahidol university. She has been working at College of Music, Mahidol university, for six years as a teacher assistant of Pre-college program and a student affairs officer for B.A. program respectively. Currently, her position is a full-time faculty of the college. For her career development, Kalteera engaged in a number of trainings to enhance her repertoire of knowledge. She acquired a certificate in Student Volunteer Management for Education and Corporate Social Responsibility from Knowledge Network Institute of Thailand and another certificate in the Therapeutic Uses of Music from the College of Music, Mahidol university. To guarantee her proficiency in English, Kalteera also got a certificate IV in spoken and written English for Upper Intermediate level from Bayside International English College, Melbourne, Australia. Kalteera is specialized in creative lesson planning, curriculum knowledge, classroom management, learner assessment and individual counselling. Her strength is teamworking which require skills such as communication and conflict resolution. She can handle a situation under pressure and does not mind to create something innovative to support her work. She is interested in various topics, include curriculum development, special needs student, CSR projects, musician injury and sport events.
