Music Theatre Department Scholarship Audition

Each year students have the opportunity to audition for talent-based scholarships. In order to be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:

  1. Private Voice Grade: “A” or “B+” for all semesters of enrollment
  2. Music Theatre Courses: “A” or “B” for all semesters of enrollment
  3. Overall grade point average must be 3.00 or higher

For the audition, the student should prepare to demonstrate their levels of singing, acting and dancing. Students should prepare two (2) contrasting songs from any genre that highlight their vocal strengths. An acting improvisation exercise or “cold reading” from a scripted play will be used to assess the student’s acting ability. In the final phase of the audition, students will be taught a brief dance combination and expected to perform the combination shortly thereafter.
