Purpose and Rationale

Students in the program will have the opportunity to study with the renowned Thai and international performance, composition, and conducting faculty members of the College of Music, Mahidol University, to further develop their skills to an international level. The program was designed to facilitate graduates in finding work, and emphasizes the skills needed to be a performer, composer, or conductor, as well as a private instructor or a university instructor. The program is an International program, meaning that most courses will be taught in English (the only exception to this is Thai instrumental music classes, which will be taught in Thai). Applicants are expected to be competent in English when entering the program, but will be assured of getting a world-class education with the skills needed to participate or work in international music environments. Finally, the program will prepare students for entry into the Doctor of Music Program, Thailand’s first doctoral program in music performance.
