Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) welcomes Swiss flutist Sébastian Jacot as a soloist for the concerts “Window to Switzerland” on May 12 (Fri) and 13 (Sat). On this occasion, Mr. Jacot offers a masterclass for young Thai flutists on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 9 am –12 pm.
This is a wonderful opportunity for flutists of all ages from around the country to observe and explore a beautiful natural environment of College of Music, Mahidol University. The masterclass will be held at room PC607 of the international Pre-College building, which is an eight-story building built to house the College’s Young Artist Music program.
This event is open to the public, and we especially welcome all flute enthusiasts, parents, prospective students, fellow students, and flute teachers to attend. To participate as an active performer and an auditor, please purchase a concert ticket of either May 12 or 13. Ticket sales booth will be set up at the venue.
Currently Solo Flutist at the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig, Sébastian Jacot has established himself as one of the most active and sought-after soloists in the flute world. He has won first prizes at many of the most prestigious international competitions, including the ARD Competition in Munich, the Carl Nielsen Competition and the Kobe International Competition to name but a few. Mr. Jacot has been invited to play in orchestras such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Mozart Orchestra in Bologna under Maestro Claudio Abbado, the Stockholm Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and plays regularly with the Munich Chamber Orchestra. He also presents recitals and masterclasses, performs chamber music, and appears at music festivals all over the world.
