Celebrating 199 years of Thai-United States relationships, Wind Orchestra will be performing an American-theme on U.S. National Day. Aside from the works by American iconic composer Charles Ives, the program features music that reflect various perspectives of America: from the musical interpretation of George Washington Bridge, the musical tribute to the former President John F. Kennedy, to the innovative collage of American folk songs. The program also include a selection from “Eng-Chang”, the 2015 opera-musical work by Thailand’s leading composer Narong Prangcharoen. The story evolves around the world-renowned Thai-American Siamese Twins whose fate led them to America.
