On June 22-28, 2015, Assist. Prof. Dr. Eri Nakagawa and her 4 piano students from College of Music, Mahidol University participated in the 3rd Summer Piano Institute in Corfu, Greece. The event organized by the Piano Plus Festival in collaboration with the Department of Music of Ionian University and was supported by the Ionian Islands Prefecture, Royal Thai Embassy in Athens as well as other organizations to bring together Greek, Thai and other international music institutions in order to share knowledge and experience with music students from all over the world. Assist. Prof. Dr. Eri Nakagawa and her students joined the institute and gave their recitals among other pianists from Ionian University, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and other universities.
On June 25-26, 2015, H.E. Mr. Joompol Manaschuang, the ambassador of Thailand to Greece, came to Corfu to meet the Thai students in two evenings to watch their performances.
On June 30, 2015, the 4 Thai pianists also gave a special concert at the Attiko Conservatory of Athens before completing their tour in Greece. They performed Western classical pieces, a Thai traditional song and some of His Majesty the King of Thailand’s compositions. The concert was beautifully played and the performance was so enjoyable, as it received big round of applause from the audiences including members of diplomatic corps in Athens, the ambassadors of ASEAN countries, as well as music school faculties and students.
